-TEAM ROHAN ELITE-
Our mission is to teach young student athletes to play basketball at a highly competitive level. We believe in giving them a firm foundation in the many individual skills required to be a strong basketball player. Equally important, our coaches teach their players to use these skills effectively as a team. While our goal is to field teams that can compete at the regional and national level, we also field local area developmental teams. Most importantly, players at every level consistently demonstrate continued improvement over time.
Focusing on the development of our youth members as individuals and as a team is of the utmost importance in achieving our mission for our youth members.
The Team Rohan Elite Basketball Program is a sports program that focuses on the development of the youth of North Plainfield and surrounding areas. Team Rohan Elite will sponsor boys and girls travel and AAU basketball teams to compete in tournaments and leagues in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan areas. Whether a first-time player or a competitive athlete, our program not only allows children to become active and stay fit, it also builds valuable skills such as teamwork, respect, and self-confidence. The emphasis of our program is on the DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS. We want to take the pressure off the kids and let them enjoy youth sports.
For the beginners, we have Basketball Clinics that will teach the basics of basketball. Players will run through drills and learn the basketball fundamentals. Clinics will be run on an individual, private or group basis. For players with a little more experience and skill there will be the Travel Basketball program. TRE will run tryouts twice a year to find players to field their Travel and AAU teams. We will look to field 2 - 5 teams in the 10U – 16U divisions; the number of kids interested in playing would determine the number of teams. The elite players will be eligible for the AAU program and next level of players will be eligible for the Travel program. The Travel Program will be run from October through March; the team will play in local leagues and tournaments in the New Jersey area. The AAU Program will run from February through early August playing in local Summer Leagues and AAU Tournaments regionally and nationally.
